Introduction.

When looking in to the subject of hazardous chemical incidents prior to a work-related training course I found it difficult to get the most of the large amount of information on the internet. A lot of it was buried in other sites or not indexed very well. I had very little success until, on recommendation, I downloaded a free version of the Web Ferret search engine from Ferret Soft. I then spent days wading through the several hundred hits for relevant and well-presented free sites and information.

Most of the really useful sites were American or Australian in origin. I hope that I have made it easier to find what you need. However, the usual disclaimers must apply. I will do my best to keep the site updated, but you must verify any information on it before acting - I take no responsibility for it. There is nothing like a traffic police officer to find error in anything - if you find one, let me know by clicking here.  The site has now been updated for the new Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Receptacles Regulations 2004 - please let me know if I have missed anything, or got anything wrong.

The original information on this site comes from many sources. These include the Metropolitan Police Traffic Patrol Manual, The London Emergency Services Liaison Panel Major Incident Handbook, the National Motorway Policing Manual, and the Cleveland Police Hazchem Course.

I have created the site at Free UK because I have yet to find a better free ISP.

Please let me know of any suggestions by clicking here.
